Brief

Today I received the briefing for Photo Skills B, with the module surrounding the theme of cyborgs. This module aims is to introduce us to the main techniques of photographic manipulation and a broad overview of Photoshop. For the assignment I will consider the idea of cyborg ( the merging of the body and technology/ machine) through the production of an A3 digital composite.
For the assignment I have been given some ideas of research materials such as-

• Films - Terminator, I Robot, Metropolis
• Books- Walter Benjamin's The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction, Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka, Body and Society publication
• Previous advertisements that relate to cyborgs- e.g Ford Sierra 1982
• Artists/ Photographers/ People- Peter Kennard, Martha Rosler, Raoul Hausmann, Wafaa Bilal, Donna Haroway

I will start this assignment by researching this references given and reading given articles and books, this will give me some ideas, then I will start to look at specific topics to base my composites on.
