Donna Haraway

Haraway is a professor in history of conciousness at the University of California. In 1985 she published an essay named " Cyborg Manifesto: Science, Technology and Socialist Feminism in the late Twentieth Century" in Socialist Review. In the essay she deploys the metaphor of cyborgs to challenge feminists. She created the "Cyborg Theory" in order to criticize traditional notions of feminism. Haraways' conclusion seemed to be that "We are all cyborgs now".

"At the centre of my ironic dream, my blasphemy, is the image of a cyborg".
